Patrick Palmer was born and raised in Waterford, Ireland. He attended Castleknock College and the National College of Art and Design.
Having worked in advertising in Dublin for a number of years, he relocated to San Francisco, California after meeting and marrying fellow artist, Pamela Silin-Palmer. In 1980 he joined Pacific Lithograph working as a Graphic Designer for Bill Graham Presents and Winterland Productions, creating some of the most iconic and collectible posters, tour books and merchandise for artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Ozzie Osbourne, Run DMC, The Beastie Boys, The Grateful Dead and many others.
After 28 years living abroad, Patrick made the decision to return home to Waterford, Ireland to paint and be close once again to family and friends. Using his surroundings as inspiration, he captures scenes from the Irish countryside.
Patrick’s paintings have a strong focus on light and colour in all of their manifestations, communicating their significance in the richness of oil paint and his clean sense of design. Rare Breed is a colour inspired from Patrick’s ability to capture Irish colour and light.
