Sarah O’Dea

Sarah O’Dea founded her lampshade showroom and studio, Shady and the Lamp, in Dublin in 2012. Sarah is renowned for hand making beautiful decorative lampshades and lighting.

Following a background in Interior Styling, Sarah trained under two of the U.K’s Master Lampshade Makers. This expanded her knowledge and expertise into this field of interiors, with a focus on distinctive lighting.

Inspired to create distinguished fabric lighting for interior lighting design schemes, Sarah works on a wide range of projects, from creating original pieces for the home to collaborating with Ireland’s and the UK’s leading interior designers, stylists and architects.

Sarah produces bold and beautifully crafted lampshades, using techniques unchanged for generations, and giving eclectic frames an off-beat edge by combining trend-driven fabrics with directional design. Sarah’s designs illuminate any room with the soft lit edges of Scalloped Silk, a soft yellow.
